National Holstein Convention a Great Success

With three huge tents, at least 2,000 in attendance, and an immaculate setting at Heatherstone Enterprises just outside of Baraboo, WI, the National Holstein Convention hosted a sale lineup nothing short of spectacular on Tuesday June 24th. |
|
Accelerated Genetics was proud to be the only Hope Diamond Sponsor of the 2008 National Holstein Convention and hosted the Sale Meal that fed over 1800 people.
|
|
Accelerated Genetics hosted the welcome tent with a display at the Holstein Convention which highlighted some of the top genetics they have to offer. |
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Marching Tuba's made a presence prior to the sale starting. They could be heard playing favorite Wisconsin songs welcoming everyone to the "Wisconsin Nationals"!
|

After being served a huge meal, convention attendees were able to view all of the cattle prior to the sale and also found a spot around the sale ring to watch as an average of $12,785 on 86 lots of cattle sold to 11 states and two countries. |

R-Z Billion Carmen-ET sold for $47,000 to Dale Trinrud of Waupaca, WI - which was the 3rd highest selling animal at the sale. Consigned by Jeff Rugg of Stevens Point, WI, Carmen is a 12/07 Billion daughter of Ralma Goldwyn Carmel-ET (VG-88 VVVVE) who stems from the ever-popular Ralma Juror Faith cow family.
|

Accelerated Genetics would like to thank all of those people who attended the
2008 National Holstein Convention! Congratulations on a great Convention and hope to see everyone next year in California! |
Accelerated Genetics Building Project Almost Completed
 |
The finishing touches are being made to Accelerated Genetics three newest building projects located at the Westby, WI production facility.
West View 4, a sire housing facility, has begun it's final stages of completion and cattle should start moving into the barn soon. This EU facility will be a great addition to help continue to grow the production facility with top genetics.
The new Isolation Barn is also a welcomed addition to the production facilities as this will allow to bring in more animals and qualify them to EU status in a timely manner.
The last building project, a feed station, has been completed and is currently being used to store and mix sire rations.

Billion Daughter Sells For 31,000 Euro in Netherlands Sale
Last week the Dutch Masters Sale was held in Utrecht, Netherlands. One of the high selling heifers was Anderstrup Billion Carmy, a March 2008 heifer calf sired by J-K-R BW Marshall Billion. Carmy sold for 31,000 euro ($48,782.58 USD). She was consigned by Anderstrup Holsteins, one of the most respected breeders in Denmark. Her dam is Ralma Goldwyn Carmel, a Goldwyn out of Ralma Christmas Cookie, one of Oman's best daughters. Carmy came over to Denmark as a embryo. Carmy is a very correct heifer and one to watch for in the future!
