New Specialty Barn at Accelerated Genetics Production Facility Completed

Wisconsin Youth Wins Accelerated Genetics' Door Prize

This past September, at the 2007 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Green County, Accelerated Genetics gave a chance to the thousands of participants to win a package of Farm Products. The winner of over $500 worth of farm products, was Kimberly Keller, daughter of Tim and Sandy, from Kellercrest Holsteins in Mt. Horeb, WI.

Young Producer Committee Elections Held During Fall Conference

Two positions were filled on the Accelerated Genetics Young Producer Committee by Joe & Donna Parrell, Cross Plains, Wisc., and Tom & Katie Grady, Oregon, Wisc. This year Mark Keller, Mt. Horeb, Wisc., retired from the committee and the Parrell's were re–elected for their second term. Other Young Producer Committee members include: Tim Bowers, Marion, Wisc., Brian Castleberg, Mondovi, Wisc., Jamie & Amy Larson, Evansville, Wisc., David & Kelly Oberreich, Plymouth, Wisc., Blair & Kathy Sawall, Clintonville, Wisc., and Jeff & Tammy Styczynski, Pulaski, Wisc.

The Young Producer Committee organizes and coordinates the yearly activities of the Accelerated Genetics Young Producer Program.

Producers gathered for the 2008 Fall Conference held in Spring Green, WI.

Individuals and couples throughout Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa, and northern Illinois make up the committee. This dynamic group encourages producer involvement plans annual events and provides leadership to facilitate a prosperous program.

The committee elections took place during the annual Young Producer Fall Conference held this year in Spring Green, Wisc. on October 27-28, 2007 at the House on the Rock Resort. During the conference producers attended a variety of sessions including “The Farm Bill” by Brad Pfaff, “Cooperative Spirit” by Janet Keller, “New Twists to Reproduction Synchronization” by Humberto Riveira, “Calf Buildings, Ventilation and Care” by Chris Eisele, “Capturing More Value for Your Beef” by Jeff Lehmkuhler, “Manure and Nutrient Management” by Sue Porter and “Sick of Spam? Computer Tips and More” by Steve Iverson.
