Accelerated Genetics opened the doors to the brand-new state-of-the-art semen processing laboratory and warehouse for an “exclusive premier showing” Media Day on July 10, 2007. An elite group of media toured the new facilities and learned more about innovative Affirm™ and Bovatel™ technologies while viewing a live semen collection.New facilities as well as current building projects were toured, including the newly completed landscaping! After the tour and lunch, media were given on-site interview opportunities with key Accelerated Genetics staff.

International Tours

In July, a group of 12 salespeople from the Netherlands spent 3 days with Accelerated touring farms in Wisconsin to view daughters of Decker, Airraid, Harry, Billion and Potter. The farms that the group visited included:

  • Christopherson Dairy, viewed their third lactation Harry daughter
  • Schuette Highland Farm, viewed their Harry daughter
  • Ron and Carla Jacobson, viewed their GP-82 point Harry daughter
  • UW Platteville Pioneer Dairy Farm, viewed their GP-83 and VG-85 point Decker daughters, as well as their new facility
  • Paradise-D, Dan and Nancy Pagenkopf, viewed two impressive second crop Potter daughters that scored GP-80 and GP-83
  • Spitzer Dairy, viewed their two Airraid daughters
  • Burr Oak Dairy, viewed their GP-80 Airraid daughter
  • Herricks Dairy, viewed their two Decker daughters
  • Dan Byom, viewed his two Decker daughters
  • Hendel Farm, viewed their GP-82 Billion daughter and three more second crop Potter daughters

The group also toured the new facilities at Westby before ending their tour in Madison.


2007 Photo Contest Reminder
The annual photo contest deadline is quickly approaching. Remember to submit your photos to Kari Stanek by October 10, 2007. This year’s theme is “Calendar Cows." Cash awards will be given to the top four photos! All photographs entered should be color. Digital photos are preferred if they are sent as a high resolution (300 dpi) JPEG with approximate photo size at 5”x 7” or larger. They can be sent via email to Kari Stanek or on a CD to E10890 Penny Lane, Baraboo, WI, 53913.

WI State Holstein Championship Show Held
The District 2 Holstein club recently hosted the WI State Holstein Championship Show in West Salem, WI. On Monday, July 23rd Accelerated Genetics sponsored and assisted with the Junior Judging and Classification contest. Judge Dan Donner of Ontario, Canada placed over 230 head on July 24th. Accelerated Genetic employees were on hand recording show results, helping picture class winners and other show tasks including being a top level show sponsor. Mark your calendars now for the Young Producer Fall Conference! The event will be held October 27-28, 2007 at the House on the Rock Resort in Spring Green, WI.
