Internships
Accelerated
Genetics offers three types of internships to college students during the summer.
They are Public Relations & Advertising Intern, Sales & Service Interns
and Marketing Services Intern. Candidates can apply for more than one internship,
please clarify on cover letter which internship is being applied for.
Accelerated Genetics internships provide valuable real-life experiences through a variety of opportunities working hands-on within the A.I. industry. These experiences will help individuals prepare for a future career.
Each internship experience will take place during the summer months working around each individuals school schedule. Applications of cover letters and resumes will be accepted between August 1st and November 15th of each year.
Public Relations & Advertising Intern
The Public Relations & Advertising Intern will be responsible for a variety of projects within the areas of public relations, written communications, print advertising, audio visual, and web; as well as receive a broad-range of experience with all Accelerated Genetics programs and services.
The intern will be responsible for interviewing customers and writing feature articles for the company newsletter as well as writing general news releases. In addition, the intern will represent Accelerated Genetics at numerous functions throughout the summer including conventions, dairy shows and young producer activities. Other duties include taking photographs, developing and designing brochures and various types of ads and working on the company website.
Besides having an understanding of the dairy and beef industries, a successful candidate should be proficient in both written and oral communication and have some experience with desktop publishing software (ie. QuarkXpress, InDesign & Photoshop). Training will be given in all areas.
Location: This Internship is based out of the Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wisconsin, but does require some travel.

Sales & Service Interns
As a Sales and Service Intern, individuals will develop skills in artificial insemination, learn about reproductive services such as synchronization programs and the ASAP® program, as well as receive a broad-range of experience in all Marketing division positions and Accelerated Genetics’ programs.
These interns will provide relief service for assigned A.I. Technicians, conduct market penetrations studies and assist with retail sales routes. Other responsibilities will include assisting with sire and daughter photography.
A successful candidate should have an understanding of the dairy / beef industries and experience with cattle is required. Interns will be trained in A.I. breeding and sales, previous experience is advantageous, but not required.
Locations: These internships are located within Accelerated Genetics’ membership market (Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa). Home base destination is negotiable.

Marketing Services Intern
The Marketing Services Intern will assist with photography efforts of Accelerated Genetics’ dairy sires and offspring, and in hosting tours for international and domestic tour groups, as well as receive a broad-range of experience with all Accelerated Genetics programs and services.
The intern will assist with locating and selecting Accelerated Genetics progeny for picturing and tour groups; work with the picturing crew in the preparation and photography of these daughters; host international and domestic tour groups; and coordinate travel itinerary.
Besides having a good understanding of the dairy industry, a successful candidate should have experience with dairy cattle, knowledge of dairy genetics, and the ability to judge and fit dairy cattle. Additionally, good communication and computer skills are important.
Location: This Internship is based out of the Administrative Headquarters in Baraboo, Wisconsin, but does require an extensive amount of travel. The majority of internship will be spent in Accelerated Genetics’ membership market (Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa); with the opportunity for travel in other markets. Home base destination is negotiable.
